About PMD
PMD (Programme for Muslims with Disabilities) is a specialised Qur’anic and Islamic education initiative under Badan Agama dan Pelajaran Radin Mas (BAPA), dedicated to serving individuals with hearing or visual impairments. Recognising the importance of inclusive education, PMD is designed to empower, educate, and support our brothers and sisters with disabilities, ensuring they have equal access to religious knowledge and spiritual development. The programme integrates adaptive learning methods and assistive technologies to make Qur’anic and Islamic studies more accessible. Through a structured curriculum, PMD provides Braille Qur’an materials, sign language interpretation, and tailored teaching approaches, allowing students to engage fully with Islamic teachings.
Programme Objectives
To provide inclusive Islamic education for individuals with hearing or visual impairments.
To equip students with Qur’anic literacy through Braille Qur’an and sign language.
To foster a sense of belonging and community among Muslims with disabilities.
To offer a supportive and accessible learning environment, ensuring all students can engage meaningfully with religious teachings.
To promote independence and spiritual empowerment for individuals with disabilities through structured education.
Vision
Our vision is for BAPA to be the one stop Islamic Learning Centre for Disabled Muslims in Singapore for all levels to cater the needs of the students with relevant facilities, trained teachers and intellectual appropriate curriculum.
